Charles A. Cox, MAI, ASA

Charles A. Cox has been involved in real estate valuation along the Grand Strand area of South Carolina since 1989 and also is licensed in the State of North Carolina. Originally from Anniston, Alabama, Mr. Cox moved to the Myrtle Beach area in the early 1980s. Mr. Cox has achieved the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, generally regarded as the premier designation for commercial real estate appraisers nationwide. In addition to the MAI designation, Mr. Cox has also achieved the ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers with an emphasis on real property. In addition to his real estate appraisal expertise, Mr. Cox has successfully completed several business valuation courses offered by the American Society of Appraisers. Over the past ten years, Mr. Cox has specialized in hotel/motel appraisals and consulting and is considered the area’s foremost authority on accommodations properties. He has also appraised restaurants, offices, retail, and land, among other properties. Mr. Cox has provided real estate consulting and valuation services for local, regional and national lenders, as well as attorneys, accountants and developers.




     
Fred B. Beall

Fred B. Beall’s real estate career spans more than three decades. He is a native of Myrtle Beach and has lived and worked here for most of his life. As a property manager for a large commercial office developer/builder, he was in charge land acquisition and development proforma east of the Mississippi and managed over a million square feet of net rentable area in seven states from Illinois to Florida. As a real estate developer with a large regional firm, Mr. Beall was involved with the development, construction and sale of several mid- and high-rise oceanfront residential condominium projects and golf course projects along South Carolina’s Grand Strand. As a commercial real estate appraiser, Mr. Beall has worked for many of the nation’s largest lenders and governmental agencies as well as local institutions, attorneys, accountants, developers and individual property owners. In this work, he has rendered opinions of value on a wide variety of real estate properties, yielding a collective value well in excess of a billion dollars over just the last couple of years.

Laura Peters Lang

Laura D. Lang is a commercially certified appraiser in both South Carolina and North Carolina. Originally from Pennsylvania, Ms. Lang has a total of over twenty years of local real estate appraisal and consulting experience covering both commercial and residential parcels. She is considered one of the Grand Strand’s most authoritative valuation experts in residential subdivision appraisals for A&D loans and phasing scenarios. Additionally, her experience covers warehouses, industrial properties, mobile home parks, restaurants, apartments, multi-family projects, convenience stores, easements and rights-of-way, marinas, shopping centers, and offices and medical buildings.

Thomas R. Brown

Tommy Brown has a diversified career in real estate and commercial banking for over twenty years. Mr. Brown graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with majors in Real Estate, Banking and Insurance. Tommy has a vast knowledge in appraising and market studies throughout South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina. His experience includes a wide variety of real estate properties including shopping centers, restaurants, offices, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, marinas, and golf courses among other property types. Services have been provided for local, regional and national lenders, attorneys, developers, as well as city, county, state and federal institutions.

Shirley A. Stokes

Shirley A. Stokes has been involved in real estate valuation in Horry County, South Carolina since 1984. Originally from Union, New Jersey, Ms. Stokes moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1981 after graduation from Kean College of New Jersey. To enhance her real estate experience, she added a MBA degree to her credentials in 1991, with her graduation from Webster University. Ms. Stokes has a total of over 20 years of real estate appraisal and property taxation experience, covering both residential and commercial properties. Her commercial appraisal experience includes hotel/motel properties, restaurants, offices and medical facilities, retail centers and stores, convenience stores, warehouses, condominium projects, apartments, easements, partial interests, and land valuations. Ms. Stokes has provided real estate consulting, valuation and taxation services for governmental bodies, local and regional lenders, attorneys, accountants and developers.

Alan E. Olsen

Alan Olsen has had a diversified career in real estate and banking for over twenty years. He recently relocated to the Grand Strand from New York. For a decade, he was the owner of a real estate appraisal, consulting and brokerage firm specializing in commercial real estate in the New York City and Long Island markets. Mr. Olsen maintains New York general appraisal and real estate brokerage licenses.  Mr. Olson is a Certified General appraiser in South Carolina. Prior to his entrepreneurial achievements he worked in banking, splitting his time with two lending institutions; Greenpoint Savings Bank and First Federal Savings and Loan of Rochester. While with these banks he was, at various times, in multiple departments as a chief appraiser, an underwriter and a loan officer.

Stewart Plemmons

He is a native of Surfside Beach, life long resident of Horry County and is a General Certified Appraiser of South Carolina.

Amit Patel

Amit G. Patel has joined Cox, Beall & Associates, LLC, the commercial real estate appraisal firm, as an appraiser. He has a BS degree in Real Estate and Finance from USC where he was on the Dean’s List and graduated with high honors. While at USC and for two years after, he worked for Columbia-based appraisal firm. Mr. Patel’s Grand Strand expertise is in hotels, condominiums, land tracts, retail and restaurant facilities, etc.

Carolyn Watson

Carolyn Watson joined Charley Cox in his business at Cox, Beall & Associates, LLC, in March of 2004. She has been in the real estate development business in the Grand Strand for 20 years and has had her broker’s license for 15 years. Ms. Watson manages the rental units, coordinates the re-modeling of newly acquired homes and condominiums, does research for purchasing new dwelling units and assists in the re-sales.

Carol Jones

Carol Jones is the office manager and bookkeeper. Ms. Jones is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana.  She moved to Myrtle Beach in 1999 and now calls this home.  Ms. Jones worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Indianapolis for 17 years and held many different positions acquiring a multitude of office experience.  She also ran a local Real Estart Office and worked for a property management company in the Grand Strand area before coming to Cox, Beall, and Associates, LLC.
